Program Description

All CDTC programs are certificate programs.  We have been training drivers for over 20 years.  Our school is approved through the Indiana Commission on Proprietary Education.  Also, as an accredited member we have an A+ rating with the Indiana Better Business Bureau.

•  Our class-B program runs Monday through Friday. We offer this class once or twice a month, depending on demand. Please call the school with a Monday date that you would like to start. Classes currently run 7A.M. to 3:30 P.M. (Summer Hours) for up to five days. This is a hands on training program. Students will learn all of the control skills to pass the Indiana control skills test and to obtain their commercial-driver license.

Students must have an Indiana, operator’s license and social-security card.  They must pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination before they take the written tests for the instruction permit.  Students should keep their original DOT long form and give the BMV a copy to take the tests.

Students must complete the written tests for the instruction permit before the class start.  These are the tests for general knowledge and air brakes.  We do not require the hazardous materials endorsement in our program.

Students can pick-up the Indiana CDL Test Booklet at their nearest BMV or log-on to  www.in.gov/bmv/.  Please read sections 1, 2 and 3 for General Knowledge; and section 5 for Air Brakes.  The written tests for the instruction permit are free and unlimited and offered at any BMV center.

Students should bring their Indiana driver’s license, social security card, a copy of their DOT physical (long form) and instruction permit to class on the first day.

  • ·A five-panel drug screen ($45.00) will be required while in class.
  • ·At the end of the class students will need $175.00 for their control-skills test.  This will be paid directly to the test site.
  • The commercial license is $30.00 and the instruction permit is $16.00.
